Genie states that “In designing and manufacturing the Z-62/40 the goal was to match the strengths of the previous model and enhance them further making one great all round unit.” It’s fair to say that in the Z-62/40 they’ve done exactly that. Firstly the working height has been increased from 66ft 4in up to 66ft 11. The horizontal outreach has also been greatly improved from 36 ft 3in to an amazing 40ft 11in. Finally to allow complete flexibility, the platform can now be lowered to 7ft 5in below ground level.
What’s more outstanding about the Z-62/40 articulated boom lift is that all of these refinements came about with a unit that’s both compact and highly maneuverable. Weighing in at just 21,900 lbs  this nimble boom lift has zero tail swing and a front turntable swing that’s classed as minimal. At the same time its compact height of just 24ft 10in and a width of only 8ft 2 in means that it’s easily stored when it needs to be. This is perfect when space is at a premium.

Four wheel drive and oscillating axles seek to make light work of any terrain and outstanding grade-ability means that this boom lift can climb surfaces of up to 45 degrees. The 7ft 7in turning circle is also one of the lowest in its class and the four-wheel steer option also allows the unit to be crab-steered into even tighter positions. The Z62-40’s fast mast boom system gives operators the ability to descend and retrieve tools and materials quickly while making a speedy return to working height and finally, the easily accessible swing out engine tray allows easy access to either side of the engine for servicing.
